Manchester United and Arsenal have joined Inter Milan and AS Roma in race for Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey, writes Mundo Deportivo.

Thomas Partey has been scouted by both Premier League clubs in recent times and his performance in the Champions League tie against Liverpool was a clear backing of why the scouting was vital.

The midfielder has been an integral part of the Madrid clubs development over the past three seasons with Diego Simeone claiming that the player is under-appreciated.

“I could say so many things [about Thomas], but with some of them I have to shut up,” Simeone said after the 26-year-old’s performance against Lokomotiv Moscow in Europe’s biggest club competition. “I’m very happy with Thomas.”

“If he had come from an English or German team, he would be [lauded] but he’s from the academy and he’s just Thomas.

“He has been working for many years, non-stop.”

However, it looks like the Ghanaian will finally be reaping the benefits of his hard work with both the Red Devils and the Gunners ready to splash the cash on him.

With a release clause of €50 million, the player could be a bargain for who ever gets to sign him in the coming years.

Mikel Arteta is willing to build a strong team next season and see Partey as a good addition, while United could see the Atletico No.5 as a quality player for squad depth, considering the midfield players at his disposal.

Partey’s current contract at the club expires in 2023 but Atletico are working tirelessly to tie him down to a new contract while increasing his buy-out clause.
