This is definitely going to be a high-scoring affair as both teams like to play expansively on the front foot with a high line. But as in both games against Chelsea and Arsenal, Slot has shown that this version of Liverpool can be tactically adaptable and is willing to make a few tactical tweaks against elite opposition’s. Liverpool could be more passive in possession in this game as they possess the quality to exploit Brighton’s highline, choosing to utilize Arnold’s range of passing coupled with Salah & Diaz threat in wide areas. Brighton will need to do better with their pressing structure as if executed incoherently, could lead to an embarrassing scoreline for the Seagulls.

A string of quality passes from Arnold could be key in attacking Brighton’s last line of defense while setting Salah and Diaz through on goal. Defensively, Trent would be need to be precise with his passes as one wrong pass in their defensive third could set Brighton lose on the transition.

The veteran striker has been in great goalscoring form and overperforming his xG with 6 goals scored from 4.53 xG. Beyond goalscoring, He’s also responsible for leading Brighton’s high press and would be called upon to be intelligent in his decision making and also ruthless in front of goals as quality chances would be far and few between.
