Real Sociedad striker Willian Jose has been long due to arrive at Molineux stadium. The Wolves are finally close on bringing the Brazilian to England for a season end loan with an option to buy.

The striker is known for his goal-scoring abilities and has scored 62 goals in 170 games that he has played for the Spanish side. Wolves have been procrastinating to solve their striking problem and with Jose in the picture, we can clearly see them trying to strengthen their attacking third.

What really can Nuno and his side expect from Jose?

Jose is a consistent goalscorer and can be cherry-picked as the perfect Jimenez replacement. The 29-year-old has qualities mirroring to Jimenez and Wolves must find a like-to-like replacement for a player who has been injured after sustaining a fractured skull against the Gunners.

Jose is a born-talent and runs goals in his veins. The Brazilian recently scored two wonderful goals against Cordoba in Copa Del Rey, moments before he was linked with the English club. This is one of the very few qualities that make him a Jimenez-like striker. Even the numbers do justice to a comparison of both the players. While Wolves Mexican sensation has been able to win 1.5 aerial duels per game, Jose is not far behind with 1.1 duels per game.

Jose’s style of play is one that would easily mould with the asks of Premier League clubs. The accomplished striker is fast, physical, and fearless; three features that any Premier League side would want a tick on.

Jose looks like a player who will provide much more than goals. The 6’2” striker possesses the ability to hold the ball which will come in handy for Wolves while they defend deep.

Despite his shortcomings of pace, Jose has been able to score goals and contribute. He had a 20 goal season with Real Sociedad in the 2017-18 season and has scored one goal in every three games for the last four years.

Jose with his experience and talent has the calibre to lift a beleaguered Wolves squad who have been yearning for a new face in the changing room. Jose’s entry could slide Wolves away from rushing into the bottom three and regain their lost pride.

There are no shortcomings in the skillset that the striker possesses which hands Nuno no reason to delay the deal.

“The earlier the better.”
