Lucas Torreira has been the subject of many clubs in Europe ahead of the 2020/21 campaign, that is according to the midfielder’s agent.
Torreira has constantly been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium after reportedly falling down the pecking order under manager Mikel Arteta.
The Gunners are also believed to be open to sanctioning a move for the player should a concrete offer be received as they are reported to be demanding £27 million for the Uruguay international.
And his agent, Pablo Bentacur has revealed that despite drawing interest from many clubs in Europe, the Arsenal midfielder has no official offers on the table from potential suitors.
Bentacur said: “There are many requests (for Torreira), but there is still nothing official. I have received many queries but we have nothing official on the table. The player is training with Arsenal. The coach (Mikel Arteta) has to make a decision if he really needs Torreira or not, but all this press talks about is more publicity than reality. Today the market is a bit stuck, official offers, I repeat, there are none.”
The Italian Serie A seem the likely destination for the 24-year-old with Fiorentina and Roma said to be interested in acquiring his services for the upcoming season.
Torreira has already made it clear that he does not plan to stay in England should he continue to be given limited chances, adding that a move elsewhere could be for the best.
“Last season I played continuously, this one less so,” he stated. “This year has been more complicated: I have lost continuity and confidence. I do not like this. At this age I need to play to be called up for the national team.”
The defensive midfielder made 29 appearances for the Gunners during the 2019/20 Premier League season – scoring once and adding one assist.
