Roberto De Zerbi is an Italian head coach who manages Tottenham Hotspur. A former midfielder, he started coaching in Italy and made his name at Sassuolo, then spent time at Shakhtar Donetsk before taking over at Brighton in 2022, where his possession based style and tactical ideas made a major impression in the Premier League.
After a spell with Marseille he arrived in north London. De Zerbi is known for his short passing patterns, intricate build up from the goalkeeper and demanding standards in training. His sides try to draw opponents out before exploiting the space behind.
