Liverpool are set to face SpVgg Greuther Furth in their second pre-season match in Germany before flying off to Singapore. The match will take place on 24th July in Furth, Bavaria at 10 pm (IST).

The former Bundesliga 2 champions under manager Alexander Zorniger ended the season in 12th position only a few points safe from the drop zone. In their last 5 matches, they have been able to secure 2 wins out of 5 matches and scored 14 goals along the way including a draw against Bundesliga team Eintracht Frankfurt. They would be looking to defy the odds by beating the English giants when they meet on Monday.

Liverpool will be looking to make it 2/2 when they will meet Greuther Furth. In the match against Karlsruher, many Reds fans got their wish as they finally saw Trent starting in the midfield with Conor Bradley playing at right back. Bobby Clark also was very impressive as he played a major part leading up to the first goal.

Debutant Dominik Szoboszlai played his first match in Liverpool colours and looked quite impressive. Luis Diaz looked a bit rusty but showed some sudden bursts of energy here and there, there has been some interest for Diaz by the Saudi Clubs but Klopp has made it very clear that the Colombian is not for sale.

The second half against the German side saw Klopp field an entirely new starting 11. Tsimikas looked out of positions many times whilst on the field while youngster James McConnell impressed everyone. Another debutant Alexis Mac Allister made his entrance in the second half who provided a brilliant assist for Diogo Jota’s second goal. Jota and Cody Gakpo were no doubt the best players in the match with Ben Doak providing Klopp plenty of reasons to give him an extended run next season.

Few players are set to miss the match against Furth which primarily includes Jordan Henderson who didn’t feature in the match against Karlsruher and is now set to leave the Merseyside Club. Thiago and Alisson are also set to miss the match and would probably feature in the matches in Singapore. Bajcetic might get some minutes on the pitch for the first time since March.

Predicted Liverpool XI: Kelleher, Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Mac Allister, Clark, Trent Alexander Arnold, Gakpo, Jota, Salah.

It looks very much likely that Klopp would again deploy an entirely different team in the second half which could look like Adrian/Jaros, Gomez, Matip, Quansah, Tsimikas, Bajcetic, Szoboszlai, Scanlon, Diaz, Doak, Nunez.

England international Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliot will also not feature and would join the Liverpool camp when they will be in Singapore. It remains to be seen whether Klopp would deploy the same formation with keeping Trent in the middle or try out the 3-2-2-3 formation. Liverpool fans can also hope to see some more youngsters get some game time and impress the German manager.
