Liverpool’s best goalkeeper, Alisson Becker is suffering from a calf injury and has been ruled out of top table-holders clash i.e. against Arsenal on Saturday at their home ground, Anfield.
The news was confirmed by Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp and said that Alisson is on recovering mode and the date is still uncertain, when he will be fit to play.
“(He’s) not that close, nobody’s told me I can consider him in training or tomorrow for the game,” Klopp told reporters at his pre-match press conference. “I had lunch with him so at least he can eat.
“He looks good, he’s in good shape, good mood but it will take time. I don’t know exactly, there’s no date in my mind. Nobody told me a date, we didn’t ask.
“We want to give him the time he needs. It looks good. In the beginning he was on crutches which is normal with the injury he has. They are not there anymore so he walks normally and can train completely different to a week ago.
“From now on, it will go quickly but how quick, I don’t know.”
The 26-year old took on Twitter to update the fans with his health and was optimistic in his approach.
“One more day of treatments! Every day feeling better,” Alisson wrote. “Looking forward to get back to the action!”
The important role Alisson plays at Liverpool is vivid during to his absence. Last year Alisson helped Liverpool to gain 22 clean sheets, the most by a goalkeeper and was awarded with the best goalkeeper award. But, this time they have suffered at his absence and conceded in both the matches.
Adrian is the temporary keeper replacing injured Brazilian. Although he became the hero by saving last penalty against Chelsea in UEFA Super Cup final , but in Premier League he has failed to demonstrate a standing role.
With the absence of Alisson and trembling defence , Klopp must set a clear plan to gain dominance against the Gunners and would definitely not like to break the winning streak at home ground.
