A palpable buzz around Fantasy Premier League continues to grow with the game having officially released its updated version for the 2022/23 season last Tuesday. With fans looking forward to their respective teams’ pre-season fixtures whilst anticipating the arrivals of several talents alongside catching a glimpse of newer additions before the start of the campaign, FPL managers have already begun creating their first drafts as they look forward to locking a formidable team on road to the first game-week of the new season.

Winners of the English Championship last season, Fulham have emerged amongst the promoted clubs to have shown a notable appetite to avoid a relegation battle next season. Having secured deals for midfielders Joao Palhinha (£5.0m) and Andreas Pereira (£4.5m) this summer, the Cottagers are likely to boast a handful of exciting assets likely to deliver key contributions if the club are to retain their place in the Premier League at the end of the season.

Star-striker Aleksandar Mitrovic (£6.5m) emerges as the most expensive of Fulham’s assets with midfielder Harry Wilson (£6.0m) following suit. Newly arrived Andreas Pereira (£4.5m) cements himself among the favourable prospects of the club’s assets, while the likes of Tosin Adarabioyo (£4.5m) and Bobby Reid (£5.5m) could emerge as exciting prospects provided the team succeed in securing crucial results throughout the initial phase of the campaign.

With prices of every registered player having been revealed following the official release, the upcoming campaign is expected to continue delivering intriguing competitions for places across the board. However, while most managers are likely to contemplate drafting in the most noticeable names, the focus for seasoned managers, as ever, remains on drafting in understated assets capable of delivering sustainable points over the course of the upcoming season.

Expected to be a regular starting for Fulham this season, the former Manchester United attacking midfielder has emerged amongst the most coveted asset within his price range. Having shown glimpses of potential during his time at Old Trafford, Pereira could emerge as a notable prospect moving into the campaign.

On loan at Brazilian club Flamengo last season, Pereira registered two goals and an assist in 13 league appearances for the club. While having failed to register a notable campaign last season, the 26-year-old is likely to emerge as an impactful presence for Fulham, provided he is deployed as the team’s primary creator on the pitch this season.

With FPL managers likely to channel funds towards strengthening the defence, Pereira establishes himself as an exciting fifth-choice midfielder moving into the season. Moreover, provided Fulham succeeds in gaining crucial results at the beginning of the campaign, the midfielder is likely to be involved in the goals next season.

HARRY WILSON (MID, £6.0)

Amongst Fulham’s most exciting players on the pitch, Wilson is expected to remain pivotal to the club’s prospects in the upcoming season. Having shown impressive potential during the club’s road to promotion last season, the 25-year-old is likely to involved be in the goals moving into the campaign.

Registering a commendable 10 goals and 19 assists at the end of the last season, Harry Wilson emerges as an exciting prospect amongst the club’s assets in midfield. Being the team’s primary free-kick and corner taker, the Welshman is likely to be a major part of Fulham’s success across the attacking front.

Having registered an average of 2.3 shots in addition to 2.5 shots per game last season, Wilson boasts the potential to deliver favourable returns provided the team retains its aggressive style of play. Moreover, possessing an impactful presence across the attacking third, the winger has the potential to emerge as Fulham’s top goal contributor next season.

ALEKSANDAR MITROVIC (FWD, £6.5)

The Championship’s highest goal-scorer (43) last season, Mitrovic emerges as the most coveted asset amongst promoted teams moving into the 22/23 campaign. Having registered the second-highest number of starts (44) for the club in the Championship campaign, the Serbian is expected to remain the focal point of Fulham’s attack in the Premier League.

Besides registering an astonishing 43 goals last season, Mitrovic also contributed seven assists, finishing with a tally of 50 goal contributions at the end of the 21/22 season. The Serbian’s tally saw him finish as the highest goal-scorer in a 46-game season within the second-tier of English football.  Moreover, registering an exceptional number of expected goals (1.01xG), the striker contributed to 47% of Fulham’s goals, with the team having scored 106 goals in the Championship last season.

Although having failed to replicate his Championship form following promotion to the Premier League with Fulham in previous seasons, Mitrovic is likely to remain a coveted asset owing to his feasible price range. Provided the Cottagers find themselves amongst the goals in the upcoming campaign, the Serbian is likely to emerge as an exciting prospect in the forward position moving into the season.
