Bernardo’s Silva stay at the Etihad has gotten pessimistic with the winger closest to a move away from Manchester. Man City have already identified a replacement for the Portuguese in Red Bull Salzburg’s Oscar Gloukh.

Manchester City aren’t adamant about extending his stay and would accept any bid of around £45-50m from the Arabs. The Saudis have already announced many Premier League players joining their league and Silva’s exit won’t come in as a shock. It will be an exponential rise to Silva’s current £150,000-per-week salary with Man City.

Oscar Gloukh had gained traction from big European clubs last season playing for Israel in Under-19 Euros. The midfielder rowed Israel to the finals of the tournament where he scored a goal in the showpiece finals which his team eventually lost to the best young guns. He continued his good run and increased in fame courtesy of performances for the Israeli club Maccabi. In the 18 domestic matches for the club, he netted 6 past the keeper and assisted 7 in the process.

His performances did not go in vain as Salzburg instantly bought him to Austria for a hefty €7 million in the latest winter transfer window. The 19-year-old may well make a move yet again to England with Manchester City sounding affirmative. He has gained interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United as well but the Champions seem favourites to sign Gloukh.

Pep Guardiola loves young guns. The Spaniard has been influential in making the career of a lot of Number 10s: be it Messi or Bernardo Silva. Gloukh – a traditional number 10 is versatile and can also play as a false number 9 in teams where the number 10 position is not used.

He also has the qualities of playing the most advanced role in attacking midfield with passing being his forte. The Israeli has shown plenty of instances already of world-class passes in his timid career. His acumen to scan through gaps and find his teammate on the run is as good as any.

Oscar Gloukh is also gifted with immense speed and control over the ball. Just like Bernardo, he loves to run through the defense on his own and make spaces for his striker by dragging all the defenders towards him. His brilliant vision and excellent passing skills have made him the scouts’ favourite leading to plenty of interest from top European clubs.

He however lacks the willingness/shrewdness to run behind, make tackles or interrupt the game which will only be developed with time after playing for bigger clubs.

Yes, Pep Guardiola spends heavily to get his hands on players like Erling Haaland but he also develops talent like Phil Foden and Rico Lewis. Guardiola is a born groomer who is aware of handling youngsters and brushing them into a complete package.

Oscar surely has the talent that it takes to play in an Elite club but lacks the completeness to start for one. Gloukh needs to be tutored and to play alongside the likes of master De Bruyne while being managed by the champion Guardiola is something the Israeli should look forward to.

Oscar Gloukh for sure can be called as a like-to-like replacement of Bernardo Silva and Manchester City as of now do not need necessarily need a midfielder but Gloukh can be a signing of first water for the future. Yes, For the Future!
