Daniel Podence has reportedly been identified as a target for Scottish side Celtic ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old moved to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the January transfer window, and has played only ten games for the club across all competitions. His outings have come in the Premier League (7) and the Europa League (3), making three starts and seven substitute appearances.
Podence is yet to score or assist in the league, with his only goal involvement coming in the 2-3 loss to Espanyol in the Europa League back in February – an assist for Matt Doherty.
Despite his impressive performances, Nuno Espirito Santo’s has preferred the likes of Diogo Jota and Pedro Neto ahead of the former Olympiacos winger. This has raised doubts over the player’s long-term future at the Molineux, and is said to be weighing up his options ahead of the summer transfer market.
And per reports from English outlet The Mirror, the Portuguese has emerged as a summer target for Neil Lennon’s team as they look to make additions to their squad. Mirror also claims, Celtic have already reached out to the Premier League side over the possibility of taking the young player to Scotland.
Podence joined Wolves for a fee in the region of £17 million, and it is unclear how much the club will sell him should they make him available.
It is also being reported that any move away from Nuno’s side for the 24-year-old will depend on Adama Traore. Traore is said to be considering his future at Wolves, with newly crowned Premier League champions Liverpool interested in taking him to Anfield among others.
