Arsenal could reignite their interest in Raphinha as Barcelona’s financial woes might force a sale despite his exceptional season.

An Arsenal transfer saga that first started back in the summer of 2022 for Raphinha during his time at Leeds United is catching eyes in the upcoming winter transfer window while he’s thriving at Barcelona, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Barcelona’s financial constraints have put them in a contentious situation that could see them sell some of their big players to raise funds. One player that Arsenal can target during this period is the Brazilian Raphinha who’s having an exceptional campaign this season

In 24 appearances across all competitions, the Brazilian has managed to register 17 goals and 10 assists for Barcelona. A stellar overall campaign has seen him linked to the club that were all hands to sign him prior to his current employers – Arsenal

Raphinha has always been known for his versatility in attack — a key trait that Mikel Arteta values in his Arsenal setup; he can comfortably play as an RW, LW, or even an AM. The Brazilian’s overall contributions and technical ability, being maximized under Barcelona’s setup, have seen him in rejuvenated form.

Raphinha’s directness in dribbling, creativity in attacking positions, and precision with his deadly left foot align perfectly with the philosophies of top clubs — making him a seamless fit for Arsenal. His defensive work rate is also commendable, making him a diligent worker off the ball.

The Brazilian’s ability to influence high-stakes games and his consistency of the highest order can see him standout for a side like Arsenal. Another aspect that Raphinha can boast at a side like Arsenal would be his dead ball ability from corners/freekicks – adding a valuable dimension to the dynamics

However, signing a player of Raphinha’s stature, considering the phenomenal season he’s having, is going to be a real challenge; especially given Barcelona’s reluctance to sell Raphinha and his pivotal role in their title aspirations.
