Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly monitoring exciting 20-year-old Midtjylland winger Dario Osorio.
According to GiveMeSport, Ange Postecoglou wants to add a right winger to the squad to give Brennan Johnson some competition. Osorio is high on their list of targets, and the club are extensively scouting the Chilean. The youngster joined Midtjylland last year from Universidad de Chile and impressed in his debut season in the Danish Superliga. Osorio recorded ten goal contributions in 15 starts for the eventual league champions.
Tottenham have been aggressively recruiting young players under Postecoglou. Osorio could be the next wonderkid in North London, with Spurs having scouted him multiple times over the last few months. The club’s interest is said to be at the advanced stage, with the hierarchy weighing up a potential January move.
Tottenham will face competition for Dario Osorio’s signature
Should Spurs decide to make him a transfer target, they will have to act fast, with multiple other European clubs showing interest. Manchester United, Liverpool, and Real Madrid are all reportedly monitoring the Chilean. Although the other three clubs are considered more prestigious than Tottenham, Spurs will feel like the front runners, given their extensive scouting for the winger.
Osorio is known for his creativity and ability to slice open defences with his dribbling and passing. The winger has a wand of a left foot and enjoys cutting in on his favoured foot from the right wing. He is also versatile and capable of playing in attacking midfield if required.
Although Tottenham would like to complete a move for him in the January transfer window, it is unlikely that Midtjylland will allow one of their stars to depart mid-season. Spurs may be forced to wait till the summer to sign Osorio, who is expected to be available for less than £10 million. His wages will not be a problem, with the youngster earning less than £6000 a week on the Danish side.
Spurs will continue monitoring Osorio as they push for a top-four finish this season.
