Leicester City will clash with fellow promoted side Ipswich Town at the Portman Road Stadium this afternoon.

A clash between relegation candidates is always a six-pointer, and this match is a must-win for both managers. The Tractor Boys are still searching for their first Premier League win of the season and sit in the relegation zone. On the other hand, Leicester have suffered back-to-back defeats and will be looking to bounce back strongly.

A win at Ipswich would open an eight-point gap between the Foxes and the relegation zone. However, a loss puts serious pressure on Steve Cooper, who is struggling to find the right formula for Leicester

The Foxes had a terrible time at home against East Midland rivals Forest last weekend. All three goals were due to individual mistakes, and it is clear that Cooper has to tweak his tactics. Interestingly, the manager fielded a team and tactic similar to what Leicester used last season under Enzo Maresca. The sole goal that the hosts scored was due to that system, with Harry Winks and Ricardo Pereira linking up well in midfield.

It remains to be seen whether Cooper will keep the same tactics with Pereira playing on the right flank or revert to his earlier tactics with a James Justin and Victor Kristiansen fullback pairing. Slow starts have been Leicester’s biggest problem this season, and Cooper must ensure they do not concede first at Portman Road.

Ipswich were tantalisingly close to leaving London with at least a point last weekend, but a late Bryan Mbeumo winner downed the visitors to their third successive league loss. With the team yet to record a victory this season, Kieran McKenna will see a struggling Leicester as the perfect opportunity to get their first three points.

The two sides were fairly evenly matched last season, with Ipswich netted late equalisers in both of their league meetings against Leicester. Although the Foxes probably have the stronger team on paper and will be slight favourites going into this fixture, Ipswich will be determined to get their first win. The match is bound to be a close contest and a fascinating watch for neutrals.
