Leicester City and Nottingham Forest will lock horns in the East Midlands derby at the King Power Stadium this Friday.

Their first league meeting in over 18 months, both sides will desperately want the victory. This fixture means a lot not only to the fans and players but also to Foxes manager Steve Cooper, who managed Forest for two years before being sacked in 2023. The Foxes will be searching for their third consecutive league win while Forest will look to continue their unexpected push for continental football.

Here’s the predicted Leicester City lineup to face Nottingham Forest in the East Midlands derby on October 25.

Leicester’s best player this season, Hermansen is a guaranteed starter. The Denmark international had another good game against Southampton and will be itching to get his second clean sheet of the season against Forest.

Defenders

Ricardo Pereira, Caleb Okoli, Wout Faes, James Justin

After eight weeks of persisting with a Justin-Kristiansen combination, it is clear that things aren’t working out at the back. After conceding two very avoidable goals against Southampton, Cooper moved Justin to the left and introduced Abdul Fatawu on the right flank. The dynamic of Justin inverting and Fatawu pushing up worked well.

Cooper has stated that he can see Fatawu playing as a right back, but Pereira will likely be given a chance there. The Portuguese is one of Leicester’s best players and deserves his chance.

Midfielders

Harry Winks, Wilfred Ndidi; Facundo Buonanotte

Winks did not start against the Saints but was brought on as a half time substitute. Leicester looked much better with him on the team, and Cooper is likely to start him against Forest. Ndidi’s all-round excellence sees him partner Winks in a midfield pivot. With Fatawu likely to start on the right wing, Buonanotte will be deployed as the number ten.

Forwards

Abdul Fatawu, Jamie Vardy, Stephy Mavididi

Fatawu changed the game after coming on as a substitute against Southampton and must start against Forest. A winger duo of Fatawu and Mavididi, supported by Buonanotte in attacking midfield, will make things very difficult for the Forest backline with their dribbling abilities. On top of that, you have Jamie Vardy lurking in the box.

Leicester City predicted lineup vs Nottingham Forest: Mads Hermansen; Ricardo Pereira, Caleb Okoli, Wout Faes, James Justin; Harry Winks, Wilfred Ndidi; Facundo Buonanotte; Abdul Fatawu, Jamie Vardy, Stephy Mavididi.
