Premier League football is back after a short international break, which allowed teams to have a breather and reassess their tactics after an exciting start to the season.

Leicester City will face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on August 14. The two teams are yet to record a victory in the league and have only mustered a single point each. The Foxes sit 15th, with Palace a position below, with both sides above the relegation zone only on goal difference. The Eagles and Leicester will battle hard in London, searching for their first victory and ensuring they don’t fall in the bottom three.

As the home side, Crystal Palace will look to dominate proceedings at Selhurst Park. Despite not having the best start to their Premier League campaign, the Eagles remain a strong side and will push for a top-half finish this season.

Palace lost key players Michael Olise and Joachim Anderson this summer, who signed for Bayern Munich and Fulham, respectively. However, they have mitigated their losses with the arrival of exciting talents Eddie Nketiah, Ismaila Sarr, and Daichi Kamada.

The Eagles line up in a 3-4-2-1 formation with Eberechi Eze, Kamada, and Jean-Philippe Mateta as a fearsome attacking trio. Mateta was one of the best forwards in the league during the second half of last season, and he will be serviced by two extremely technical and creative players, Exe and Kamada. With Nketiah also an option for the Eagles, the Foxes’ backline will have their work cut out for them.

With Leicester shifting into a narrow three-at-the-back formation in possession, Palace will target the wide areas during turnovers. Eze and Kamada can combine with their wingbacks to create favourable 2-vs-1 situations on the flanks, from which they will hope to create chances. However, with the Eagles also playing with a three-at-the-back formation, Leicester will look to do the same, especially when the wingbacks push forward. Abdul Fatawu is one of the best dribblers in the Foxes line-up and will look to take his man on often.

Leicester City have a slightly better record against the Eagles in their past ten meetings, winning four times and losing thrice. Crystal Palace will start the match as the favourites but will face a tough opponent in Leicester.
