West Ham United have appointed former Real Madrid and Spain National Team manager Julen Lopetegui as their new head coach. Lopetegui will succeed David Moyes and join the team on July 1. The Hammers concluded the 2023/24 season in ninth place with 52 points. He has also managed Real Madrid and had a successful spell as Spain’s National Team’s coach after two years in charge of Porto.
The first meeting with West Ham’s players will take place in pre-season at the start of July. Later that month, the club will have a couple of pre-season friendly matches in the US, which includes Lopetegui’s previous club Wolves as well as a match against London rivals Crystal Palace.
