Following a string of promising signings, Wolverhampton Wanderers seem keen on bolstering their squad for the future. According to the latest reports from Argentina, the 19-year-old Velez Sarsfield midfielder has attracted the interest of a couple of Premier League outfits, with Wolves the latest to register their interest in the player alongside Manchester City previously.
As per reliable Argentine journalist Cesar Luis Merlo, Wolves are said to be “negotiating” a deal for Perrone, with the player expected to only move ahead of next season after being loaned back to Velez for the ongoing campaign, provided a club secures his signing this summer. The latest development comes from Argentine publication Ole – stating sources at Velez – confirming the ‘informal contact’ from Wolves, adding, that the Premier League club are yet to submit an official bid for the youngster.
Perrone is said to have a release clause worth £8.4m in his contract valid until December 2023. According to the report published in Ole, Velez remain keen on not losing any players ahead of their Copa Libertadores’ semi-final clash against Flamengo this week. Although having spent only one full season in the Argentinian Championship, the defensive midfielder has established himself as a key part of Velez’s prospects for the new season, with the club expected to remain keen on retaining his services for the ongoing campaign ahead of granting him a move next summer.

Having first made his mark in the U-16s representing the Argentina trophy-winning side at the 2019 Montaigu tournament, Perrone is said to have been on the books of Velez since the age of six.
