According to the latest reports, Chelsea is set to make a bid for Serie A defender Gleison Bremer, who has been linked to Spurs since February after reports linking him to the club surfaced.
With Chelsea undergoing a “revolution” in their club’s higher ups and losing Antonio Rudiger (their leading defender) to Real Madrid, the club doesn’t plan to stop.
Chelsea are apparently looking forward to signing the 25-year-old Brazilian wall and have submitted their ‘important proposal’ to the club.
Gleison Bremer’s signing is now leading to what some fans are calling a ‘three-way bidding war’ between Inter Milan, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur. Bremer’s standout performance of the 2021–22 season was the match against Juventus, where the Brazilian ‘pocketed’ the star striker Dusan Vlahovic throughout the match. This performance from Bremerrcaught the eyes of a lot of scouts and fans were impressed by his display of disciplined defence.
While Chelsea and Milan are intriguing options for the Brazilian defender, Tottenham Hotspur have proven this summer market that they are a force to be reckoned with, as they are not afraid to spend on their targets. It will be quite interesting to see how the three-way war for the Brazilian ends and which squad will be adding the “wall” to their depth.
Author’s Verdict
Gleison Bremer is a player that is very much in demand, reports were also linking him to clubs like Atletico Madrid and Juventus last summer. Not only this he was awarded with Serie A defender of the year for this season and has made his mark well enough in Italy.
Chelsea usually doesn’t shy away from offering big to their signings but if the recent reports are true then the Lillywhites are also looking forward to offering him a ‘mammoth deal’.
Bremer in the squad will add more confidence in the defensive back and also boost the team’s aggression.
