Manchester United are reportedly set to wrap up the signing of young right-back Marc Jurado.
The 16-year-old has spent more than half of his age playing for Barcelona’s youth team and was set to be promoted to the Juvenil B side for the 2020/21 campaign.
The youngster is said to have declined a three-year professional contract from the Catalan club and now has an agreement in place to team up with Man United in the summer.
Jurado plays for Barcelona’s Cadete A youth team and has been very impressive during his time with the side, getting attention from the English side.
Reports indicate that the La Liga outfit were keen to tie him down to a new long term contract at the Camp Nou but the player has made up his mind to leave after this season.
However, Sport, a media outlet in Spain are reporting that the teenager is all clear to sign for the 20 times English league winners with Barcelona set to receive £1.5 million as a compensation fee.
Quique Setien’s side have always lost exciting prospects to English top-flight teams before coming back to resign them with Gerrald Pique and Cesc Fabregas no exception.
The inevitable departure of Jurado will definitely be a blow to the La Liga champions who thought they had overcome this situations with the extension of Ansu Fati’s contract.
Manchester United seem to be a bit aggressive in the youth market these days. The United scouts are doing a good job.
