Jonathan David has been on the book of the Belgian side Gent, since January 2018. He made his professional debut for Gent at the age of eighteen, on August 4 2018 against Zulte Waregem and scored a goal in stoppage to time to salvage a 1–1 draw.

David Jonathan is a Canadian international striker known for his rear ability to effectively and efficiently play with both feet, which makes him too unpredictable while he has the ball at his feet. His technicality, pace, strength, vision and an eye for goal has been on evidence since his arrival at the club.

He his the joint top league goal scorer with 18 goals, has the second assist rate (8) and has scored the most non-penalty goals (15) so far. His performance hasn’t gone unnoticed by the top teams in Europe and Arsenal are been reported to have shown an interest in him.

According to his interview and report from Guardian, he identified the English Premier league has the best and most competitive league in the world. And has the desire to play there in the nearest future.

This revelation from his interview has given the Gunners a boost and hope of getting the Canadian international player.

With his desire to make the next step by getting a bigger club where he’ll be given a regular playing time and to also play in the EPL, will Arsenal be the next step he needs to consider?

Considering David Jonathan’s age, potential and the uncertainty surrounding both Lacazette and Aubameyang’s future at the club, signing him as a replacement for any of the two current players if they decide to make there move away from Arsenal in the nearest future, wouldn’t be a bad idea.
