Speaking in an interview as quoted by Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison has spoken about the transfer links to Spanish giants Real Madrid and what the future holds for him.
The Brazilian striker has claimed that playing for and representing Real Madrid is a dream for any player and that he is no different and would love to play for Los Blancos. However, Tottenham fans can draw hope from the fact that Richarlison seemed to hint that he had unfinished business at Tottenham and wanted to show everyone that he can succeed here.
Here is what the talented Brazilian had to say about his future and the rumours linking him to Real Madrid this summer, “Ofc, Real Madrid is the biggest club in the world and every player wants to wear their shirt. But I have a club, a contract — I have to prove why Tottenham bought me for a high price. But any player dreams of playing for Real Madrid”

Richarlison was signed by Antonio Conte at the beginning of last season from Everton in what turned out to be a highly anticipated transfer. However, it is safe to say that this particular move has not worked out so far. It took almost the entire season for the Brazilian striker to score his first Premier League goal for the Lilywhites and has more yellow cards for shirts taken off during a disallowed goal than the actual number of goals he scored.
Somewhat of a meme material and a scapegoat for Tottenham faithful in his first season, Richarlison is eager to turn things around. Despite the initial challenges, there is no denying his immense talent. Throughout his time with the Toffees, he consistently displayed a remarkable level of quality and determination. With patience and support, it is highly likely that Richarlison will flourish and demonstrate his true value.
One must remember that Richarlison even looks like a different player when he wears the Brazilian shirt. He looks more confident, assured and scores goals on a regular basis, as one saw during the World Cup in Qatar. Much of his struggles in the first season at Tottenham might have to do with the fact that he did not have a defined position or role in Antonio Conte’s set-up. After a while, the pair really did not seem eye to eye and things only kept going south.
There is no doubt that Ange Postecoglou will come up with a plan in his mind on how to bring the best out of Richarlison. If he can give him the confidence and trust that Richarlison needs, we might have a special player on our hands.
Let’s see if Richarlison can have a better second season than the first. Only time will tell how this pans out.
