Tag: Unai Emery

Unai Emery is a Spanish head coach from the Basque Country who has managed Aston Villa since October 2022. A former goalkeeper, he built his reputation at Sevilla, where he won the Europa League three years running, and later added another European trophy with Villarreal. Spells at Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal came in between, and he arrived at Villa Park with a point to prove in England.

Emery is known for meticulous preparation, detailed video work and a flexible approach that can shift between a high line and a compact mid block within the same match. He took Villa back into the Champions League and has kept them in the European conversation since.

On this page you will find the latest Aston Villa news from Premier League News Now in 2026-27: Emery’s pre and post match comments, transfer speculation, injury and suspension updates, and analysis of the tactical tweaks that make Villa so hard to read on the touchline.
