Tag: Mikel Arteta
Mikel Arteta is the Spanish head coach of Arsenal, born in San Sebastian and raised in Barcelona’s La Masia system. He played for Everton and Arsenal, wearing the captain’s armband at the Emirates, before moving into coaching as an assistant to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. Arsenal gave him his first head coach job in December 2019, and he won the FA Cup in his first season.
Arteta’s teams are built on a high press, strict positional structure and plenty of work on set pieces. He turned the Gunners from a side in transition into Premier League champions in 2025-26, ending a 22-year wait for the title, and every transfer window and selection call at Arsenal now runs through him.
This page collects everything we publish on Arteta in the 2026-27 season: the latest news from London Colney, transfer rumours and recruitment, injury updates before each fixture, and tactical analysis of how his side line up, build up and defend. Check back for fresh reports whenever Arsenal play.
