Gary O’Neil is an English head coach who was appointed Ipswich Town manager on 23 June 2026. A former midfielder for Portsmouth, Middlesbrough and West Ham, he moved into management at Bournemouth, then took the job at Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he impressed with an organised, hard working side before leaving in late 2024.

O’Neil likes his teams to be compact and aggressive, with quick forward passes and a good understanding of how to make the most of limited resources. He has been praised for his man management and for getting players to over perform in challenging circumstances.
