As per report from Todo Fichajes in Spain, it’s believed that the deal for the signing of Atletico’s midfielder Saul is almost sealed at a price way below the player’s release clause of £132million (nearer £70million).

This latest report will undoubtedly come as a great news to United fans, who have being hoping to see more quality addition at the club, after the signing of Bruno Fernandes from Portuguese club during the last January transfer window.

There have been speculations surrounding the incoming of Niguel Saul for sometime now, with the Red Devils showing relentless interest in the 25-year-old midfielder who have been touted to be the kind of singing that’s capable of changing the face and standard of the team.

Saul-Niguez-Atletico-Madrid

Atletico Madrid has so far been reluctant to let go of their academy graduate, who had his breakthrough season under the current manager Diego Simeone and has since been one of the team’s standout performer ever since.

His stock has risen over the years with his level of performance, consistency and productivity from the midfield position. His ability to make a difference regardless of the team’s setup makes him a reliable and an important player to the team.

His performances and style of play had earned some raves from fans and media, who views him as a complete midfield general, capable in both defensive and offensive duties; all from the midfield.

Saul-Niguez-Simeone

Spanish football journalist Guillem Balagué stated that Saul suits several styles of play, citing his ability to play “Simeone style” (in reference to Atlético manager Diego Simeone) and “Barcelona style”, summing up with “We have never had a midfielder like this”.

Diario AS’ Alfredo Relaño stated that: “Saúl is the player to move the ball forward with purpose and attempt to finalise long passages of possession”, adding that “The new centre of the park for Spain (where so much happens for the national side) is now defined by him, a box-to-box player and one never afraid to try his luck in front of goal”.

While Sid Lowe of The Guardian opined that: “now he embodies the shift, technique and talent but athleticism too, blessed of impeccable timing, arriving in the area”.

Averaging 2.5 tackles per game, 1.5 interception per game, 2.1 clearances per game and winning 3.9 aerial duels per game, shows Saul’s level of grittiness which will surely suits the Premier league’s rigidity and as well add more spine to United’s midfield regardless of whether Pogba’s inconsistency continues or not.

A mouthwatering pairing or availability of Pogba, Bruno, Saul, Mata, Fred and McTominey will undoubtedly give United’s boss Ole Gunnar Solksjaer a formidable midfield options, capable of bringing back the glory days to Old Trafford once again.

Should the deal be sealed this summer, 2020/2021 season might be Red Devils chance to turn things around in their quest of winning the Premier league.
