Leeds United’s record goalscorer, Peter Lorimer, unfortunately, passed away on Saturday morning following his battle with a long-term illness.

Fondly referred to as “hotshot”, Lorimer scored 238 goals in his 707 appearances for the club. Being Leeds’ top scorer is not the only record he holds, as he is also the youngest ever debutant in the club’s history. The Scotsman who made his debut in September 1962 aged just 15 years and 289 days.
Peter Lorimer was appointed as a club ambassador in 2013, which was rightly placed upon him after two memorable spells at the club. The first spell was for 17 years between 1962 and 1979 and the second between 1983 and 1985.
The attacking midfielder scored 217 goals in his first stint at the club and 19 goals in his second stint at the club. In his first stint, he won two league titles with the club in 1968-69 and 1973-74 and also secured a runners-up medal in the European Cup (1974-1975).
