Spurs faithful will certainly love having Ben White at the heart of their defence, and they have so been following the Englishman keenly since he’s been linked with a move to Hotspur Way last summer.

The Whites from North London certainly need reinforcements in central defensive breed, possibly a couple, considering how inconsistent the likes of Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier have been alongside the aging Toby Alderweireld, and an inexperienced Joe Rodon.

Ben White has been turning faces since he helped Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United to Premier League, and the desperation with which the Argentinian wanted to bring back the 23-year-old says it all about the quality he possesses.

Yet, against all the potential suitors – Ben White penned a new four-year deal with Brighton in 2020.

José Mourinho wanted to bring White to N17 in the winter as well, but he had to settle for Joe Rodon. And despite that aforementioned new deal, Ben White is said to be a hot prospect in the upcoming summer as José Mourinho, who will take charge of AS Roma following the conclusion of the ongoing campaign, wants to bring Ben White to Rome with him.

After the news appeared in English media, Corriere dello Sport seconded the reports confirming Roma’s interest in the Brighton & Hove Albion star.  The newspaper states ‘an enquiry has been made’ from the Italians’ as they fight the likes of Spurs, Manchester United, Arsenal, and PSG for a potential deal.

Nevertheless, it’s a crystal that Ben White is a José Mourinho target – although it’d be surprising if Graham Potter would agree to let go of him considering how desperate Brighton are to build their defence around White.

Further, since José Mourinho’s announcement – Erik Lamela among other Spurs stars are linked with a move to Stadio Olimpico as the Portuguese plan raid on his former side. And this is just the start of the links that José Mourinho brings with him, as Roma fans brace for what’s to come!
