After a tense double Gameweek 19, FPL managers face a hectic few weeks with four different deadlines between January 26 and February 6.
A lot of managers have ended up using their wildcards and might be in need of cheap and reliable FPL assets for the upcoming Gameweeks.
The best and the most reliable options are from the Leicester City squad. They face comparatively easy fixtures like Everton (A), Leeds United (H), Fulham (A), and Wolves (A) within the span of four gameweeks. Amid the talk of the Premier League title race between Manchester United, Manchester City, and Liverpool, these underdogs lie in 3rd place. The Foxes’ midfielders have stepped up well in recent games and may end up scoring well in the upcoming games.
In terms of players to target, James Maddison (£7.2m) is a pretty obvious pick. The attacking midfielder has been one of the most in-form players in recent gameweeks. He has been directly involved in 6 goals in his last 5 appearances for Leicester City in all competitions scoring four goals and chipping in two assists. He also has 16 goal contributions in 17 starts for Leicester City this season. With Kevin De Bruyne out for 4-6 weeks, Maddison sits as a cheaper alternative to the Belgian and could turn out to be a dependable captain pick.
Harvey Barnes (£6.8m) is another reliable choice when it comes to inexpensive picks. The 23-year-old has scored six goals while assisting twice this season. The young Englishman is reliable than most in the £6.5m – £7.0m price bracket if you are looking for a low-priced winger with a good attacking output. Barnes isn’t far behind Vardy in terms of shots in the box with eight in his last four. However, Maddison comes in at just three but lacks the goal threat that Barnes provides.
Wesley Fofana (£5.0m) and James Justin (£5.0m) are standouts in terms of mid-range defensive assets. They could be the defensive rocks that your team needs against the various out-of-form attacks of Leeds, Everton, and Fulham attacks and could manage those four points off of a clean sheet. However, the return of Ricardo Pereira (£5.9m) leaves uncertainty when it comes to Justin’s place in the starting lineup.
Brendan Rodgers could deploy Ricardo Pereira as a right-midfielder and let Justin and Timothy Castagne (£5.7m) keep their respective places considering their recent performances and the stability of the Foxes’ defence.
