Liverpool begin their Champions League defence tomorrow, as Jurgen Klopp & Co will fly off to Naples to face Ancelotti’s Napoli.
For Napoli, summer arrival Fernando Llorente will have only one word running through his veins -REVENGE.
Llorente was part of Spurs squad kissing the runners-up medal back in May at Wanda Metropolitano. Llorente did come off the bench for Spurs, but was unable to make an impact.
That also proved to be his last match for Tottenham, as he was released at the by Spurs at the end of June.
Fernando has since signed for Napoli and will cherish the opportunity to face Liverpool once again in his first European outing for his new employers tomorrow night.
He said: “It was painful to lose the final, it’s certainly revenge but above all it’s an opportunity to show that we can stay at their level.”
Llorente had been an Influential figure in Spurs road to finals last campaign. Scoring only couple of goals but one of that against that proved to be controversially decisive Manchester City in the quarter-finals.
And the Italian ace believes, Carlos Ancelotti’s experience will play a huge role in Napoli’s approach against Liverpool.
“He knows it well, he studied it better than anyone,” he said. “It will require a perfect game, great football, without mistakes because they are very strong when they steal the ball and go. They have many qualities and make you pay for every mistake.”
Llorente has made only one appearance for Napoli yet manage an assist. He will certainly be hoping to make an impact against Liverpool tomorrow ( Especially get better of Van Dijk’s physique).
