Everton vs Manchester United sees two teams looking to bounce back after consecutive defeats. For Everton those defeats have come following an incredible start to the season which saw them sit top of the pile after 5 games, they gave gone winless since their draw to Liverpool however and will be heading into this game slightly concerned.

Manchester United have looked very inconsistent this season after great Displays in the Champions League. Their winning record in Europe was halted in Midweek as they lost 2-1 away to Istanbul Basaksehir. Both the teams are looking to gain some sort of momentum before the International Break. Will Ole get the Better of Ancelotti or will the Italian’s experience see him outplay his counterpart.

With both teams wanting no less than a win this could be another thrilling fixture in an incredible Premier League season, here are some key clashes that could decide the swing of this game:

Dominic Calvert-Lewin vs Harry Maguire

England Teammates will face off against each other on Saturday, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin looking to get the better of Manchester United Captain Harry Maguire. Maguire has come under a lot of criticism in the past two games, with many questioning his position for Istanbul Basaksehir’s second goal. Calvert-Lewin on the other hand has been in fine form, with 8 goals already this season he is the joint top for goals this season.

Maguire and co must draw inspiration from their performances against Chelsea and Leipzig where they managed a clean sheet, or even the Performance against PSG where they were solid defensively despite conceding. Everton have hit a rough patch and will be looking to their leading man to make the breakthrough for the Toffees and if the United defense has another bad game, Calvert-Lewin could see himself on the scoresheet again.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka vs Luca Digne

Everton missed their Mourading fullback in their defeat against Newcastle which saw them create far fewer chances down the left hand side with most of their attack either coming down the middle or through the right flank. They also looked short defensively, with Allan having to cover a lot of the defensive frailty in that game.

So Everton will be glad that their French Fullback will be allowed to feature as his red card was appealed by the Club meaning Digne only had to serve a one match suspension. Digne will be looking to get the better of his opposite number, Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The Duel on the flank could determine how much service Calvert-Lewin gets, Wan-Bissaka who loves a good tackle will be keen to stop crosses coming in from Digne.

Jordan Pickford vs Anthony Martial

Carlo Ancelotti spoke after the game against Newcastle and said that Pickford will be back between the sticks against United and his absence was to get the Stopper some much needed rest. He will look to thwart any effort on Target by Anthony Martial who has been in sublime form in the Champions League, his 3 game suspension for the red card against Spurs has now been lifted and he will be expected to bring the same form to Goodison on Saturday.

Pickford has made some clear errors early on this season, and it will do him a world of good if he manages to keep the United no.9 quiet during this game. Everton have only kept one clean sheet so far this season and have conceded at least two goals in their last 4 games. A solid display from Pickford could change that however, but if Pickford has a bad day at the office United could Run away with the game.

Allan vs Bruno Fernandes

Manchester United’s most creative outlet this season has been Bruno Fernandes, but he too seems to be dipping in and out of form this season like the rest of the United squad. His poor pass to Mata enforced the mistake that led to the counter attack for Istanbul’s second goal. Fernandes is adept at dictating the tempo of the game and if Everton allow Bruno the space to run the game and spray passes about to his Teammates it will be tough for the Home side to walk away with something from this game.

Everton’s summer addition Allan will be there to make sure there is enough fight in the Everton Midfield, stopping United from freely moving the ball and creating chances, it will be an absolute breeze for the home side if Allan keeps Bruno out of the game.

Yerry Mina vs Marcus Rashford

Everton have been terrible defensively this season even when they were winning games, they were still conceding goals, the Toffees have added to their defense with the signing of Ben Godfrey but the former Norwich man has not featured a lot this season. Yerry Mina has to have a solid display for Everton if they stand a chance of winning this game.

Marcus Rashford will be the threat that Mina has to look out for, Rashford could cause some real problems for the Toffees with his pace and agility. Keane and Yerry Mina will have to be exceptional positionally if Everton are to stop conceding goals.
