One interesting narrative around the young striker and the Blues states that the youngster was called up at Cobham, 2 years back, for a trial but was not so impressive. But the scouts always kept tabs on the striker and now the Englishman convinced the Blues to sign him after an impressive season starts at Charlton.

Mason has already netted 6 times in just 602 minutes of action, with his first goal for the League One side coming from his first touch for The Addicks. Charlton Athletic’s Development Coach, Anthony Hayes, after the youngster’s move coated, “He’s someone who we consider a high-potential player. “I wouldn’t want to put any pressure on him because I know he sets his own targets. I know there is a lot of goal-setting in terms of creating and scoring goals, as well as making first-team appearances.”

The youngster will be joining the likes of Jude Soonsup-Bell and Harvey Vale at the Chelsea Academy, a set of players who will be leading Chelsea’s attacking line in future. Soonsup-Bell and Mason playing together will be a delight on the pitch and could both make a dynamic duo in the future.
