Manchester United stunned Manchester City to reach 5th spot of the table and continue their Champions League dream. The Red Devils won 2-0 against their arch rivals in a game that was wholly and solely controlled by Bruno Fernandes.
The Portuguese midfielder has changed the way Manchester United looks with his game intellect, creative thinking and adaptability. His sensible and brilliant chip to Anthony Martial was the reason to take United through.
The win against City is the first time since 2009/10 that United have done a double over their rivals in Premier League. Also, the Red Devils have now won 3 of the last 4 meetings between the two.
Ole Gunnar Solksjaer had praised his X-factor and in the post match conference said: “He works hard, he’s humble enough, he’s got the desire, commitment, but he’s also got the X-factor,” the United manager told a news conference.
“He’s a risk taker, he’s got courage, he’s brave enough to make mistakes and if you make enough mistakes they’ll be corrected into fantastic assists or goals.”
Manchester United are now on a 10 run unbeaten streak and have reduced the gap with Chelsea to 3 points only. They still have 10 games to negate the gap which if they continue to play in the same fashion will be reduced, surely.
