Barcelona are reportedly keeping tabs on Manchester City full-back Angelino as they plan a squad overhauling ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.

The Spanish side are believed to have already sounded out on the player’s availability in the current transfer market as they look for a replacement for Jordi Alba.

Though Barcelona are yet to make an official bid for the left-back, reports in England suggest that the former Premier League champions are asking for a fee in the region of £26.5 million in order to part ways with the Spanish defender.

While the Catalan club are keen on signing Eric Garcia from City, they have now also added the 23-year-old as a possible target and could be set to raid the Etihad Stadium this summer.

Angelino joined German side RB Leipzig on loan in the second half of the 2019/20 campaign and was part of their squad that reached the Champions League semi-final.

And Goal reported last week that the Bundesliga side were keen making the move permanent if they could negotiate the asking price with City for the left-back, while manager Julian Nagelsmann also confirmed their interest in the player.

“I’m very confident that we can reach an agreement with Manchester City, now that both clubs are out of the Champions League and the focus is no longer on the tournament,” Nagelsmann told German newspaper Bild“Angel is a very interesting player for us and he wants to stay with us.”

City resigned Angelino from PSV Eindhoven last summer, and could only manage 12 appearances before being moved on loan to Germany last January.

After another abysmal performance in Europe, Barcelona appointed Ronald Koeman and are willing to back him in the transfer window this summer.

And while the former Netherlands manager is looking at parting with some of the club’s senior players, he has also identified Angelino as one who could play a part in his time at the club.
