Mikel Arteta has done a commendable job since he has taken over from Unai Emery since December, there can’t be two ways about it. And he has since not only won over the fans but also the former players, the board members and now reportedly the owners too. He has been able to do so primarily due to the clarity he brought to the scene, an identity that he gave to the team and the efficient utilization of a rather under par squad that he has displayed. However, the beautiful painting that he paints with wins over Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United is squashed by the rather unpleasant spots of Arsenal inability to break down teams like Brighton and Aston Villa time and time again.

He succeeded a team which was in complete disarray and prejudice from a manager who had lost of the confidence of his squad, fans and at last the board, which brought in the Spaniard’s dismissal from one of the most high profile jobs in the football world. Mikel Arteta, who was serving Pep Guardiola as his assistant at Manchester City, had not managed a club ever before, the doubt were there but the Spaniard answered them all through the results and performances he was able to produce.

The cloud of doubts has now been aired over the owners rather than the manager. Fans believe they have got the man to take them forward in Mikel Arteta and now wants the Kroenke Sports Enterprises (KSE) who are the owners of the North London club, headed by Stan Kroenke, to financial back Mikel Arteta in the transfer market, in simpler words, they want the Kroenkes to put in their own money. Now is that a possibility? Surely yes, you can never rule out anything, however, this scenario is as close to impossible as it gets.

The Kroenkes have maintained their will to run Arsenal on a self-sustained model and don’t want to disengage from the system anytime soon. Arsenal might have got the man to lead the charge for them, but he has to find the required tools within his toolbox, the Kroenkes won’t lend him any.
