Arsenal have often been criticised for being too laid-back when it comes to their performance in the transfer market, however, Edu Gaspar, Arsenal’s Technical Director, has moved fast and already made moves early in the transfer window. Considering it’s not even a week since the transfer window opened, the Gunners have done a considerable job and here’s our review of their performance:
William Saliba:

However, nothing has gone according to plan for William Saliba, the youngster hasn’t played a minute of first-team football for the Gunners and has played most of his football for the U23 side. Arsenal needed to shift him on and they finally have in form of a loan move to Ligue 1 side Nice and it seems like a decent move on the face value.
Arsenal should have preferred to move him to an English team which could have helped him settle to the English game better, however, a move back to his native land would be helpful for the youngster after a difficult year.
Sead Kolasinac:
Schalke witnessed the return of their former player in form Sead Kolasinac who has been struggling for game time under Mikel Arteta with Kieran Tierney ahead of him in the pecking order. Kolasinac had a foot outside the door even in the summer with a move to Bayer Leverkusen almost completed before falling out.
While these are not the moves which would get most Arsenal fans excited, however, it was necessary to get unhappy players out of the door for better dressing room morale and also for the health of Arsenal’s finances.
