Leicester City will host Manchester United at the King Power Stadium in a Carabao Cup clash on Wednesday night.

The Red Devils have confirmed the departure of Erik Ten-Hag, with former striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy acting as the interim manager with a clash against Leicester his first test. Following a crushing defeat against rivals Nottingham Forest at home last week, Steve Cooper will likely heavily rotate the squad to ensure his key players are fresh against Ipswich Town.

Here’s the predicted Leicester City lineup to face Manchester United on October 30.

Leicester’s hero in their previous Carabao Cup tie against Walsall, Ward will likely start against Man United with Cooper recognising the Welshman as their cup keeper.

Defenders

Ricardo Pereira, Conor Coady, Caleb Okoli, Luke Thomas

Pereira looked rusty against Forest, and Cooper may start the Portuguese to ensure he’s in top condition to face Ipswich this weekend. Coady and Thomas come in to give the first team members some rest, but Okoli remains in line up due to Jannik Vestergaard’s injury.

Midfielders

Boubakary Soumare, Oliver Skipp, Bilal El Khannouss

Despite this being a fully-rotated midfield, it remains strong with the two most expensive Leicester purchases of the summer involved. Skipp and El Khannouss were involved against Southampton but dropped from the starting lineup against Forest. Cooper has not yet settled with his preferred midfield trio, which gives these three an opportunity to impress him.

Forwards

Jordan Ayew, Odsonne Edouard, Bobby Decordova-Reid

Edouard has been poor when given a chance this season and hasn’t given Jamie Vardy any real competition for the starting spot up top. A front three consisting entirely of summer signings who haven’t been involved much lately, they will aim to make an impact against a United team which has struggled this season.

Leicester City predicted lineup vs Manchester United

Danny Ward, Ricardo Pereira, Conor Coady, Caleb Okoli, Luke Thomas; Boubakary Soumare, Oliver Skipp, Bilal El Khannouss; Jordan Ayew, Odsonne Edouard, Bobby Decordova-Reid.
