With the news gathering from Daily Mail, it is understood that West Ham are planning on strengthening their goalkeeping department with the intention of signing Liverpool’s outcast Loris Karius, when he returns from his loan move at Besiktas this summer.

After failing to turn around his career since the infamous blunder he committed during the Champions league final match against Real Madrid, where he conceded one of the most bizarre goal in the history of football, he had since been sent on loan to Besiktas.

He joined Turkish club Beşiktaş on a two-year loan move. Karius put in some great performances for Besiktas in his first season at the Turkish club. He earned man of the match performances and he kept many clean sheets. His man of the match performance against Alanyaspor in a league match, particularly stands out. He made several world class saves against Alanyaspor and he kept a clean sheet which prevented Besiktas from losing.

But in his second season at the club, he has failed to continue with his impressive performances, making three errors leading to goals.

Coupled with an off-field tug-of-war with the club’s management, Besiktas are unlikely to trigger a clause which would make Karius’ move permanent for £7.25million.

With the intent of West Ham for his signature, the 26-yrs-old goalkeeper joining the Hammers might be an avenue to prove himself in the English Premier league once again and get his career back on track.
