Mario Lemina has been an integral figure in Fatih Terim’s Galatasaray, since he joined the Turkish club on a season-long loan from Southampton back in summer and his impressive antics for the Cimbom’s.
The former Juventus man was deemed surplus to requirements by Ralph Hasenhüttl, and was shipped out to Turkey on loan for the 2019/20 campaign with Galatasaray. And its fair to say that the standard of Super Lig isn’t up to the same as Premier League due to financial prowess that English top-flight teams boast. Though Lemina is rather coming worse in Turkey than his last season with the Saints, it seems his performances have regressed.

Turkish newspaper Fotomac claim that Galatasaray and Southampton are now close to completing a deal which will see the Gabonese midfielder stay in Istanbul for an extended period. The Saints are expected to receive another €1 million loan fee from the Turkish side for temporary services of Lemina.
Mario has previously stated his desire to stay at Galatasaray and also has expressed deep gratitude for club manager Fatih Terim.
The reported agreement has been reached with the principle of keeping Lemina’s redemption clause at €16 million, with the Gabonese set to bag €2 million as wages from the Turkish champions during the next campaign.
Mario Lemina has a contract at St. Mary’s till the summer of 2022.
The ship to Turkey was eyed as a potential way for Lemina into Hasenhüttl’s Southampton next season, but his performances does declare that he yet has no place at St. Mary’s and possibly if he doesn’t impress at Galatasaray next season, he could rather be shipped permanently.
