Layvin Kurzawa is a French international, currently playing his trade in France with PSG. He’s currently seen as a back-up option and is out of contract in the summer. The Frenchman is a left-back in a similar mould as Sead Kolasinac.
Kurzawa is a full back who is very efficient while going forward but he does his deficiencies when it comes to defending. He has a habit of conceding fouls which can be regarded as his biggest flaw. Though he can also play as a right-back if required which comes in very hand.
It can look odd for Arsenal to sign a third left-back while they’re short on central defenders. Why would they increase their wage bill without a “Need” for it? I believe they’re looking to use Sead Kolasinac in a deal for Kalidou Kouliably as the German is a long term Napoli target.
Layvin Kurzawa arrival would give more competition to Kolasinac than Kieran Tierney, as the Scottish left-back is expected to be the first choice in spite of his arrival. Arsenal could be looking to move Kolasinac on after Kurzawa’s arrival.
- Market Value: €15 million
- Expected Fee: Nill
- Expected arrival: In Summer
- Chances to join: Very Good
The news is backed by various outlets and reliable sources and Arsenal’s interest can be understood as the player is available for free and can be a very handy player.
The reports have suggested that Mikel Arteta has given his nod for the move. And the North Londoners are looking to offer him a five-year-long contract. Though his current wakes, which stand at €100k per week, Arsenal would looking to have him cut down on his current wages or sign him up for the wages. However, the fact that he is signing for free would give the player a lot more negotiation liberty.
Though don’t expect him to join in this window. The deal in summer is financially feasible for the club and with no substantial competition in sight, they’re the favourites to sign him up.
