A mouth-watering fixture which sees the hosts and considerable favourites to win this year’s edition of the African Cup of Nations, Cameroon come up against Comoros in the round of 16 in Yaounde.

VINCENT ABOUBAKAR vs AHMED MOGNI
Top Scorer of the tournament and a favourite to win player of the tournament award as well, Cameroon skipper Aboubakar has been in fine form and will look to find the back of the net when the indomitable lions take on Comoros on Monday night. Five goals in three games in the group stages. His positioning for a center forward at 29 years old only gets better as the games go on and will be an absolute nightmare for the Comoros defenders.
On the other hand, Comoros’ Ahmed Mogni brace and a late winner against the black stars was enough to secure all three points and qualification for the Islanders. He will be looking forward to finding the back of the net against a very well drilled Cameroon defense. Top scorer at this edition of the African Cup of Nations for Comoros, Mogni is one to watch on Monday night at the prestigious Olembe Stadium.
KARL TOKO EKAMBI vs EL FARDOU BEN
Well known for his natural ability to cut in from the left flank with pace and strength, Lyon’s Karl Toko Ekambi is cruising at this edition of the African Cup of Nations. Five goals and two assists in the French Ligue 1 in 18 games for Lyon, Toko Ekambi looks to be a reliable wide player who has the utmost trust of Francisco Conceicào. A brace against Ethiopia was the introduction of his presence and his quality in this tournament and is definitely one to watch for the indomitable lions from the wide areas and from set-pieces considering his strength and height.
However, Comoros forward El Fardou found the back of the net in the fourth minute in the game against the black stars and although he leans on a lone goal in the goal-scoring charts, he is obviously one to keep a close eye on considering his well-struck finish to give Comoros the lead against the black stars. It is obvious that Cameroon concedes a lot and a goal for El Fardou cannot be ruled out.
MICHAEL NGADEU vs SAID RAID ZAKARI
At the heart of the defence of the Indomitable Lions, Michael Ngadeu has had a very impressive performance so far in this edition of the African Cup of Nations. Although the indomitable lions have conceded in every game, they have conceded just one goal on every game and Michael Ngadeu has been absolutely pivotal to leading the backline to their current position in the tournament
For Comoros Said Raid Zakari has not been at his best level in this tournament after conceding five goals in three games in the group stages was simply not good enough. Debutants Comoros have an unlikely chance to advance to the last eight but if this tournament has taught us anything it is to expect the unexpected. Raid Zakari will be at the heart of the defence for Comoros on Monday night.
FRANK ZAMBO ANGUISSA vs FOUAD BACHIROU
Napoli midfielder Frank Zambo Anguissa has had an impressive start to the tournament in this edition of the African Cup of Nations and can only get better as the tournament progresses. Control over possession in midfield and vast distribution of passes on the pitch, the Napoli midfielder alongside Pierre Kunde have been impressive for the hosts and will look to control the pace of the game on Monday night.
On the other hand, Faoud Bachirou has not been at his upmost best in this tournament but is a necessity for Comoros in midfield when they come up against Cameroon considering the many covid cases in their camp. Off the bench Gabon and subbed off against Morocco, Faoud is yet to make his presence felt in the competition although it is clear that the Omonia Nicosia forward has a lot of impressing to do when they face Comoros
ANDRE ONANA vs ALI AHAMADA
Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana had a very difficult past year after receiving a 12-month ban for a doping violation. His sentence was decreased to a nine-month ban from UEFA and has not featured much on the pitch this season but nevertheless was called upon by Antonio Concecào in this year’s African Cup of Nations. The Ajax goalkeeper has conceded in every game in the competition and will look to improve that aspect of his game on Monday night when Cameroon take on Comoros.
However, for Ali Ahamada, it is yet to be known if he will fully participate in this game and final Covid 19 PCR tests will determine his availability. After coming on as a sub against Ghana in what was not the most impressive performance for the Comoros backup goalkeeper. Conceding two goals from setpieces and making saves in the latter stages of the game which were applauded by the Comoros bench and was eventually enough to book them a place in the knockout stages. He will look to go toe to toe with Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana in this mouth-watering fixture.
