Arsenal visit Goodinson Park this Saturday, and struggling Gunners will play hosts to high-flying Everton, who have met their expectations under the leadership of interim manager Duncan Ferguson. Despite his impressive take over of The Toffees, Ferguson has ruled himself out of the permanent job on the sidelines and former Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is running favorites to fill in for Marco Silva.
Although initially it was expected Carlo Ancelotti would take charge of Everton starting from Arsenal on Saturday, Everton have released an official statement confirming the news regarding Duncan Ferguson, as he’ll take charge against another of ‘bix six’ in his short tenure serving interim at Merseyside based club. Though, as per reports released by Sportsmail, the Italian will watch the game at Goodison Park at the weekend and will start his role as Everton’s manager on Monday.
Massive talks were held in Mayfair, which also serves as residence to majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri and appointment of Carlo would serve as the biggest managerial appointment in the history of Everton, as they eye Champions League berth in coming years.
Its expected, Appointment of Ancelotti will also see his son, Davide, a place on the coaching staff and ofcourse there also will be a place for current interim boss Ferguson, who was placed in charge of Everton after Marco Silva was relieved of his managerial duties on December 5. Since then he has overseen win against high-firing Frank Lampard’s Chelsea followed by another impressive outing against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Yes, they were knocked out of Carabao Cup last night in the hands of Brandan Rodgers, but they did put up a plausible fight for their place in the semis.
