The whole world is still under the effects of the COVID virus and Euros are no exception. The latest news around the same has been the positive report of young Scottish midfielder, Billy Gilmour. The whole football community has been backing the midfielder but also have raised questions against the forced isolation of England duo Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell.
England and Scotland faced each other in the Group Stage match of the Euros on Friday. After a Man of the Match performance on his full Scotland debut, Gilmour got the news of him contracting the virus. After the final whistle, Ben Chilwell and Mason Mount, Gimour’s Chelsea teammates, were seen having a great moment as all the three were seen having close contact in the tunnel.
Thus the England team decided to send the two players in isolation after advice from Public Health England. This body advised the England team for precaution and thus Mount and Chilwell were asked to isolate. However, the answer to the question that why Scotland players and manager were not send in isolation amidst much more close contact and also spending more time with Gilmour is that the Scotland team is not under the consultation of Public Health England body. Thus the Scotland team is not forced in isolation and the team, after giving all negative tests, decided to continue their training and take part in their final game of the Group Stage.
Chilwell and Mount, as advised by Public Health England, will be in isolation till 28th of this month. Gilmour has not shown any symptoms of the virus and now will have more time to recover as his team faced a defeat in the last match and thus are knocked out of the Euros. England, however, will have a difficult time as they might miss their duo for their knockout fixture.
