Arsenal continued their recent unbeaten run with another win over Newcastle United stretching their run to six games, while also getting back on the winning track after dropping points against Crystal Palace.
Mikel Arteta continued with his recent change in formation to 4-2-3-1, while he did make few changes to the lineup yet his side proved to be good enough to get all the three points against Steve Bruce’s struggling Newcastle United who seemed to have lost all their confidence with the manager how having his job on the line.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: It’s as simple as that, the former Dortmund man scored two of Arsenal’s three goals and looked back in form after a period of dismal performances. He did miss an open goal sitter early in the first half and then sniffed a decent chance over the bar and there were suggestions that the Captain might be hooked off at half-time for the young Gabriel Martinelli, however, Arteta persisted with the Gabonese and it paid dividends.
Central penetration: Arsenal started the match with their usual tactics these days of playing the ball out wide in Kieran Tierney and hoping for one of their forward men to get their head on his cross, however, they were quick to realise that it was always going to be a difficult tactic against a side of Newcastle’s physicality and changed to a much more central progression based football in the second half, which paid dividends.
Thomas Partey: The return of the Ghanian was always expected to be a boost for Arsenal’s defense, however, he was also able to impact while attacking as he registered an assist for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s first goal with a perfectly timed ball to the skipper under pressure. This presence was felt and it was a key factor in Arsenal winning the match.
