Manchester City host Brighton at the Etihad, for a late kick-off on Wednesday, in a game where two teams that are just on the Brink meet. City on the Brink of finding form and showing everyone how good they are and getting back into the top 4, and Brighton on the Brink of falling apart and falling into the relegation zone.

Manchester United and Everton’s win meant that the rest of the pack have to win to stay in touching distance of the top and that goes for Manchester City who does still have a game in hand, but Guardiola and his men would want to take this one game at a time. City has managed to win all of their previous games against Brighton, beating the Seagulls 4-0 in this fixture last season and Scoring 5 without reply at the Amex.

It would be more than a safe bet to place your Money on a City win in any other season, but this season has come up with some incredible score-lines and it would be safe to assume that one such result is long overdue. This season more than any other has been a Rollercoaster for all clubs involved with 7 different teams occupying the Top Spot for at least 24 hours and positions from 5th to 14th have all seen 3 changes or more in every Gameweek this season.

City could make it 7 straight wins in all competitions with a win on Wednesday Night, form which was ever-present in Guardiola’s Title winning City Teams.

Manchester City will be without five players for the Premier League visit of Brighton, Pep Guardiola has confirmed.

Sergio Aguero is still isolating after coming into contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19, despite testing negative himself.

Guardiola confirmed Aymeric Laporte and Nathan Ake are still injured, while Eric Garcia and Cole Palmer are still isolating after their own positive Covid tests. Ferran Torres has been cleared and returned from isolation but might not completely match fit.

Predicted Lineup To Face Brighton:

(4-3-3 Formation)

GK: Ederson

Ederson is back to reclaim his No.1 spot between the sticks after being out through Covid and having to Self-isolate. The Brazilian has since recovered and returned to full match fitness and is expected to start.

Defense: Joaõ Cancelo, Ruben Dias, John Stones, Zinchenko

The absence of Benjamin Mendy means another start for Zinchenko is Highly likely, with Cancelo covering for Kyle Walker and John Stones and Ruben Dias Forming the Center Back Partnership.

Midfield: Rodri, Gundogan, De Bruyne

In the Midfield Rodri would be the sole deep-lying playmaker and keeping City ticking while Gundogan and De Bruyne’s creativity will be City’s main source of the attack in from Midfield. The balance that Gundogan and De Bruyne provide is vital to the way City play with Gundogan able to Dribble in tight spaces and hold the ball while De Bruyne can pick out those eye of the needle passes and create chances on a plate for the Strikers.

Forwards: Raheem Sterling, Ferran Torres, Bernardo Silva

Ferran Torres is Likely to return and with games coming thick and fast game time for other players will not be an issue, Pep will be worried about rotation and resting his key personnel with wingers requiring the most amount of care because of the explosive nature in which they play.

Sterling and Bernardo Silva might start on either Flanks with Ferran Torres running the Central Channel, this selection allows for the three forwards to interchange positions and creates more of a fluid front 3. Or Pep could Play De Bruyne as a False No.9 again.

Man City predicted XI vs Brighton: Ederson; Joaõ Cancelo, Ruben Dias, John Stones, Zinchenko; Rodri, Gundogan, De Bruyne; Raheem Sterling, Ferran Torres, Bernardo Silva.
