Liverpool vs Chelsea has always been a heated rivalry with things getting intense and even an 8 goal thriller last time around both the teams faced each other. To rub salt into their faces, Liverpool lifted the trophy after defeating Chelsea 5-3.

That Chelsea team was relatively inexperienced, but this Liverpool side now faces a different kind of opponent in the form of a revamped side with the likes of Havertz, Ziyech and Timo this time around.

Let us now take a look at how Liverpool could potentially lineup against Chelsea:

Liverpool has made the 4-3-3 their own, and it has worked wonders for them. I do not see them making any notable changes from the side that gained a hard-fought victory against Leeds. Allison in goal should be the optimum choice, and Jurgen should choose the same back four of Trent Alexander Arnold, Joe Gomez, Van Djik and Robertson even after they made some basic errors which led to potentially match-turning scenarios.

I believe that Liverpool should start with a midfield 3 of Milner, Wijnaldum and Henderson who look rock-solid as ever. This being said, Liverpool may also opt to choose the likes of Naby Keita and Fabinho due to the fragility of Henderson and Milner who have just come back to proper fitness.

I still feel that Jurgen would not risk it especially in such an important match and would instead choose to bring Fabinho and Keita as a substitute later on in the game, especially with Keita’s great dribbling ability and creativity.

The front three of Salah, Mane and Firmino have almost cemented their positions up top, and I don’t see any need to change them after the game against Leeds. Minamino could be used as a replacement towards the end of the game as he has looked sharp in his last few games, especially after getting that vital goal in the community shield.

All being said, this is sure to provide you with a great watch whether you are a hardcore fan of any side or just a neutral spectator in it.

Predicted Liverpool XI vs Chelsea: Allison, Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Van Djik, Robertson, Milner, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Salah, Mane, Firmino
