Bournemouth have reportedly turned down an offer from Sheffield United for goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

Sheffield are looking to solve their goalkeeping problems this summer with the future of Dean Henderson yet to be decided ahead of the summer.

Henderson had been on loan from Manchester United at the Bramall Lane for the last two seasons, guiding the Blades to promotion into the Premier League after the 2018/19 campaign in the Sky Bet Championship.

However, the 23-year-old is believe to be demanding the number one spot at Old Trafford following his success loan stint with Chris Wilder’s side – a desire which looks out of reach considering David De Gea is still at club.

Henderson and United are said to be in negotiations over a new long-term contract at Old Trafford, which could likely see the youngster move on loan away from the club for another season.

With no decision made yet, Sheffield have identified the former England Under-21 international as a replacement for Henderson next season, but are looking to sign him on a permanent deal.

Ramsdale joined the Cherries from Sheffield three years ago for a fee said to be £1 million and was the club’s stand-out performer, despite their relegation to the Championship.

Wilder’s side are reported to have had a £12 million bid turned down by the south coast club, who feel their first-choice goalkeeper is in a familiar stage in his career to that of Jordan Pickford’s when he joined Everton in 2017 for an initial fee of £25 million.

The 22-year-old was Bournemouth’s Player of the Year last season and is under contract under the Vitality Stadium until the summer of 2024, having assumed the role of the club’s number one in the 2019/20 season.

The just ended Premier League season saw the Cherries shot-stopper manage five clean sheets in 37 appearances in goal.
