Mason Greenwood in line for a bumper new deal?

Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood could reported be set for a bumper new deal at the club following his breakthrough season.

The 18-year-old has upgraded from a substitute to a regular starter for the Red Devils, featuring in the starting XI across all competitions they team have played since last month.

Greenwood also has 16 goals to his name in all competitions for Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s side forming a lethal partnership with Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford up front.

In the Premier League, the academy graduate has only started 10 games making a further 16 appearances off the bench but has scored 10 times while providing one assist.

The teenager is believed to be on a £25,000 a week wage currently, but United are said to be preparing a new long-term contract for him which will see him being rewarded with a lucrative offer.

The Manchester outfit are supposedly willing to offer Greenwood a salary of £40,000 per week basing on his incredible first  season he has hard with the club, per reports from The Sun.

The publication also indicate that the fresh contract will see performance related bonuses inserted for the youngster to make sure he continues for a long while at Old Trafford.

The Englishman’s current deal with Solksjaer’s side runs until the summer of 2023 but that club wants to ward off early interest from other European clubs for their asset.

The United No. 26 is expected to play a part in the FA Cup semi-final tie against Chelsea on Sunday at the Wembley Stadium, with a place in the final up for grabs.

Should the 20-time English champions manage their way part the Blues, they will face off with north London side Arsenal who defeated Manchester City earlier on the first semi-finals tie on Saturday by two goals to nil.
