Manchester United and Everton are reportedly ready to battle for the signature of Aston Villa centre-back Tyrone Mings.
The Toffees are the latest to enter the race for the England international with Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s side already keen on the defender.
Mings has been an integral part of Villans’ defence but his stay at Villa Park could be cut short should they suffer relegation.
Compared to his performances last season in the Championship, the 27-year-old is just a shadow of himself in the English top-flight.
The Red Devils interest in Mings was first reported by Birmingham Live, but The Mirror now claims Carlo Ancelloti is also a huge fan of the former Bournemouth defender ahead of next season.
United have a host of centre-back options at Old Trafford, with Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailey, Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones – all in the first for a spot in the team.
Phil Jones could be playing his last season at United, having been linked with a reunion with former boss David Moyes at West Ham United.
Reports recently suggests, Solksjaer intends to bring in a more physical player who could be a perfect pairing for the former Leicester City man.

Everton are also concerned about the long-term future of Mason Holgate, who has been linked with a move to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

Mings has started 30 games in the English top-flight, scoring two goals and providing one assist for Dean Smith’s team. He also has five clean sheets to his name within that period.
