Schalke 04 midfielder Weston McKennie has reportedly turned out as a Premier League target ahead of the summer transfer window.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are all said to be in the run to bring the youngster into the English top-flight for the 2020/21 campaign.
McKennie joined the German Bundesliga side in 2017 from Dallas and has played 91 games for Schalke across all competitions. The 21-year-old has also been capped 19 times by the United States of America.
In the just ended 2019/20 campaign, the midfielder scored three goals and provided one assist in 32 outings, becoming a regular an integral part of the club. However, his long-term future at the Veltins Arena has been a topic for discussion in recent times, due to links away from the club in the summer.
CBS Sports report that the USA international is being tipped to leave Germany this summer, with a host of European clubs said to be interested in his signature.
England, Spain and France have been touted as a possible destination for his next move while a few Bundesliga clubs are also keen on his services.
McKennie has four more years left on his current deal with Schalke but is reported to have attracted interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and newly crowned Premier League champions Liverpool.
Should a move edge closer, David Wagner’s side will demand at least £20 million for the American midfielder.
