West Ham join the race for Valladolid’s Mohammed Salisu

West Ham have joined the race to sign Real Valladolid’s 21-year-old central defender Mohammed Salisu.

Manchester United, Southampton and Everton are also rumoured to be the clubs interested in signing him. Ligue 1 side Rennes are also heavily interested but it is reported that the youngster wants a move to the Premier League.

The Ghanaian has a $10.8 million release clause which is seen as an ideal fee at West Ham even though their budget is unknown. Valladolid will not except any offers below Salisu’s release clause and West Ham will certainly be willing to pay the defender’s price.

With Declan Rice’s potential departure after the end of the ongoing season, David Moyes’ side will be certainly looking to find a replacement. The Hammers are also reportedly on a lookout for a full-back, a midfielder and a forward.

Salisu has enjoyed an excellent debut season in La Liga, playing 31 times out of 34 games with Valladolid set to stay up and avoid relagation.
